Giacomo Mazzone(Italian citizen living in Switzerland) is Head of Institutional Relations at the EBU (European Broadcasting Union), in charge of coordinating broadcaster participation in the IGF - Internet Governance Forum (consultative body to the UN Secretary General for the Internet) and of relations with Arabic broadcasters. He also works on a voluntary basis as Secretary general of Eurovisioni, the international festival for cinema and TV dedicated to the development of a European Audiovisual framework.
Giacomo was a media specialist for RAI TG2 for 10 years and the author in 1989 of the TV documentary "Il cielo in una stanza" , the first news magazine made in HD and co-produced by Rai and NHK. He has also been Deputy director of Euronews, was project manager for the all-news Italian channel RAI News 24, a deputy director at RAI, and was chairman of the EBU All-News TV channel Group for five years. He was also a member of the Board at Eurosport.
As Secretary general of Eurovisioni, Giacomo has followed a number of prestigious European projects on the audiovisual industry. As an expert he has contributed to the preparation of the UNESCO convention on cultural diversity, and worked on a project on freedom of expression and media in Italy and the Arab region.
