Video Upload
In the 2012 edition of the Eutelsat TV Awards, in addition to the Channel Logo and the short Promo Video which participants should upload in the reserved area, channels can submit their Best Programme by uploading it to our FTP server, following the guidelines below.
You should first install (if not yet installed on your system) an FTP client program. There are many robust, free and easy-to-use FTP clients, like Filezilla which is available on Windows, MacOsX and Linux, and is also OpenSource. Please refer to your technical support for this step.
To upload a video for your channel, please open your FTP client and connect to the address: video.eutelsattvawards.com with the same username and password you requested during the registration, select PASSIVE transfer and upload your file.
As our server supports partial and resumed uploads, if anything goes wrong during the transfer please reconnect and complete the transfer from the point you left. Your FTP client must also support partial and resumed uploads.
Once the upload is complete, please check the web interface
http://www.eutelsattvawards.com/channels/.
Once the system has automatically encoded your video file to Flash Video format (suitable for
web viewing) a new button "Uploaded Videos" should appear on the top of your menu bar.
Clicking
on that button should bring you the list of videos you have uploaded, with a preview window, to
let you check the video integrity. Clicking on the "Play" button in the middle of the window
will allow you to view what you have uploaded.
As this process can involve CPU-intensive calculations, please allow up to 1 hour time
- depending on the video length and format -
before checking your account for the new "Uploaded Videos" button to appear.
Please keep in mind the following rules:
- Limit the video to 2Gb max, 2hrs length.
- Please use only one of the following encodings: FLV (flash-video) or MP4 (Mpeg-4).
If you use different formats or encodings we will to our best to encode your video to the FLV format required for web viewing, but we cannot grant the results. - Please upload only one video per channel.
- The file-name should be EQUAL to the channel code. Please check che channel code in you channels list.
